Video Transcript - Create an Applicant

Screen 1: Title screen
Welcome to the video help series for the Energy Rating Product Registration System.

In this video, we are going to show you how to create an Applicant account. An Applicant account is different to our individual user account that we use to log ourselves into the system.

Let’s begin creating our applicant account.

Screen 2: Log in to registration system
Let’s begin by logging in to the registration system using our personal account details.

Screen 3: Join an applicant or an agency
On this next page, we need to indicate if we want to join or create an applicant.

To create an applicant, we need to be an Authorising Officer. An Authorising Officer is the person authorised by the company to make the application and manage the registration process after the application is approved.

[Text box on screen reads: “NOTE: In the registration system, an Applicant account is referred to as an Applicant”.]

To begin creating an applicant, we select this first option: “I am the authorising officer for the applicant organisation”.

Then we select the “Create an applicant” button to continue.

Screen 4: Create an applicant
On this page, we need to provide some details about our company, who will be the applicant organisation.

In the Company Name field, we enter the name of our company.

In the Company Number field, we enter the Australian Business Number (ABN) or Company Number. This is required if our company is based in Australia.

In the Contact Name field, we enter the name of the person who will be the primary point of contact between our company and the Energy Rating Team, who manage the registration system and answer all enquiries.

In the Company Phone field, we enter the primary phone number of our company, for example: the switchboard or reception number.

In the Company Fax field, we enter a fax number for our company, if we have one.

In the Company Email field, we enter the primary email address for our company. This should be a general email address for the company, not an email address for an individual.

In the Company Website field, we enter our company’s website, if we have one.

In the Street Address field, we enter only the street or P.O. Box address of our company.

In the Suburb or Town field, we enter the name of the suburb or town that our company is located in.

In the Postal Code field, we enter the postal code for the suburb or town our company is located in.

In the State/Region field, we enter the state or region our company is located in.

In the Country field, we select the country our company is located in from the drop down menu.

Then we select or unselect the tick box to indicate if we wish to use our street address as our postal address.

If our postal address is different from our street address, however, we need to leave the tick box blank and fill in the postal address fields below.

Once we’re done, we select the “Create applicant” button to submit our applicant account request to the Energy Rating Team for approval.

Our applicant account must be approved before we can register a product.

Screen 5: Applicant created
A green confirmation message now appears at the top of the page, confirming that our applicant account has been created and has been submitted to the Energy Rating Team for approval.

A confirmation email will also be sent to our email address.

To close the confirmation message, we select the “X” button in the top right hand corner of the message and the message will disappear.

Our applicant is now listed in the “My Applicants” table.

We can see that our membership status is active, but the applicant status is pending.

This means our applicant account has not yet been approved by the Energy Rating Team.

The Energy Rating Team will now review the request and provide confirmation by email if it is approved.

Screen 6: Applicant request approved email
This is our email confirmation that the Energy Rating Team has approved our applicant account.

Our applicant account is now active.

The email includes a link where we can log in.

By selecting that link, a new window opens and we are able to log in to the registration system and begin submitting applications for product registration.

Screen 7: Create another new applicant
If we want to create another new applicant at a later stage under the same account, we select the Account Management tab at the top of the page.

From the Account Management page, we select the My Applicants tab.

We then scroll down to the bottom of the page and select the ‘Join an applicant’ button.

We then repeat the process that we completed to set up our first applicant.

And that’s how you create a new applicant in the registration system.

Screen 8: Help section
