Video Transcript - Manage email

Screen 1: Title screen
Welcome to the video help series for the Energy Rating Product Registration System.

In this video, we are going to show you how to manage your email in the registration system.

This includes how to view an email, mark an email as read and how to archive an email.

Screen 2: Dashboard
Let’s begin on our Dashboard page.

We select the “Account Management” tab from the toolbar at the top of the page.

Screen 3: Inbox
On the Account Management page, there is a table with six tabs at the top.

The first tab is our email inbox, which will appear automatically when you click on the Account Management tab.

The inbox contains all the emails that the system has sent us. Any new emails will appear in bold.

The types of emails we receive are based on our notification preferences. Please see our Help section for information on email notification preferences.

To read an email, we select the “View” link next to the email we want to read.

Screen 4: View Email
The email we have chosen to view now appears on the screen.

To return to our inbox, we select the “Back to Inbox” link at the bottom of the page.

Screen 5: Mark Email as Read
The system indicates the email has been read, as it no longer appears in bold. We can then move on to other new messages.

We can mark an email as read without viewing the email, if required. We simply select the tick box next to the emails we’d like to mark as read.

We can also mark all of the emails in the inbox as read by selecting the tick box next to “Subject” at the top of the table.

After we’ve selected the emails we want to mark as read, we scroll down the page to the “With Selected” dropdown menu. From this menu, we select “Mark as Read” and then select “Go”.

Screen 6: Notice successfully marked as read
A green confirmation message now appears, confirming that the emails have been successfully marked as read.

To close the confirmation message, we select the “X” button in the top right hand corner of the message and the message will disappear.

Screen 7: Archive Email
Once we’ve finished with our emails, we can archive them. The way we do this is much the same as how we marked our emails as read.

We select the email or emails we’d like to archive by clicking on the tick box next to the relevant emails.

If we want to archive all of the emails in the box, we select the tick box next to “Subject” at the top of the table.

We then scroll down to the bottom of the page to the “With selected” dropdown menu. From this menu, we select “Archive” from the dropdown menu and then select “Go”.

Screen 8: Notices successfully archived
We now see a new green confirmation message, confirming that the emails we selected have been successfully archived. They will no longer appear in our inbox.

To close the confirmation message, we select the “X” button in the top right hand corner of the message and the message will disappear.

Screen 9: View Archived Messages
If we want to view our archived messages, we select the “Archive” tab from the table.

Screen 10: Archive
The Archive page contains all of the emails we have archived from our inbox.

We select the “View” link in the Actions column next to an email if we want to view the content of that email.

If we want to return an archived email to our inbox, we select the tick box next to the email. We then scroll down to the bottom of the page to the “With selected” dropdown menu. From this menu, we select “Un-archive” and then select “Go”.

We now see a new green confirmation message, confirming that the emails we selected have been successfully restored to our inbox.

To close the confirmation message, we select the “X” button in the top right hand corner of the message and the message will disappear.

And that is how you manage your emails in the registration system.

Screen 12: Help section
For further assistance with using the registration system, select the “Help” tab at the top of any page to go to our handy Help section, where you can find more videos and step-by-step guides to help you navigate any aspect of the system.

Screen 13: Contact Us
