Screen 1: Title screen
Welcome to the video help series for the Energy Rating Product Registration
System.
In this video, we are going to show you how to set up your Applicant for product applications, if you are a first time user of the registration system and you don’t have any existing Applicants.
Screen 2: Dashboard
We begin on our Dashboard page.
As you can see, our Applicant has been created and approved, and we have logged in to the registration system.
We want to create a product application, so we select the “Register a Product” tab from the toolbar at the top of the page.
Screen 3: Before You Start
On this page, we see that there are some steps that we need to complete
before we can create an application.
The red boxes indicate actions we must take before we commence an application.
The yellow boxes indicate actions that are recommended we complete before we commence an application.
Before creating an application, we must:
To add a contact person, we select the “Add Contact People” link on this page.
We will need to add at least one contact person before we can proceed. Authorising Officers will be able to change these details at any time.
Contact people are members of your organisation that you nominate to be contacted by the Energy Rating Team or an application’s Assessment Officer, if required.
We recommend that at least one of the contact people you add is based in Australia.
For specific instructions on how to add a contact person to your Applicant, follow the instructions on the “Manage your Applicant’s Contacts” page in the registration system Help section.
To add a brand, we select the “Add Brands” link.
Any product that we register must have a brand attached to it, and we will be prompted to select a brand when we are filling out our application.
For specific instructions on how to add a brand to your Applicant, follow the instructions on the “Manage your Applicant’s Brands” page in the registration system Help section.
It is also recommended that we:
It is not mandatory for us to add a test laboratory or a manufacturer before we begin an application, but it will make the process easier for us if we do.
The test laboratory is the lab that conducted the tests on our product for energy efficiency.
When we complete our application, we will select the relevant test lab from the registration system.
If the lab is our own, independent lab, we will need to add it to the system before we can select it.
To add a test laboratory, we select the “Add Laboratories” link on this page.
For specific instructions on how to add a test laboratory to your Applicant, follow the instructions on the “Manage your Applicant’s Test Labs” page in the registration system Help section.
When we complete our application, we are required to specify at least one manufacturer for the product.
To add a manufacturer to our Applicant, we select the “Add Manufacturers” link on this page.
For specific instructions on how to add a manufacturer to your Applicant, follow the instructions on the “Manage your Applicant’s Manufacturers” page in the registration system Help section.
We strongly recommend that you complete all of these requirements before starting a product application, as it will make the application process a lot easier.
And that is how you set up your Applicant for product applications in the registration system, if you are a first time user.
