Upgrading An Air Conditioner Registration (for Air Conditioners less than or equal to 65kW only)
If you are a registrant with air conditioners registered under the 2013
Determination, you can choose to upgrade your 2013 registrations to the
2019 Determination for Air Conditioners less than or equal to 65kW.
This means that you do not have to lodge a completely new application
and can take advantage of the new Zoned Energy Rating Label (ZERL).
When you choose to upgrade an existing registration, the new upgrade
application will be predominantly pre-filled with information from the
existing registration. However, as the 2019 Determinations ask for
additional information, you will be required to answer additional
questions, as well as provide an updated test report.
There is a fee of $210 per upgrade application, as the application will
still need to be assessed by the Regulator before it is approved.
The upgrade process only applies to Australia, and only to Air
Conditioners less than or equal to 65kW. It does not apply to Air
Conditioners greater than 65kW.
Watch our video walkthrough to see how to upgrade an Air Conditioner registration.

for any issues or messages and then manually select ‘Submit’ on
the Summary and Submission page.
